If you’re not familiar with the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, let me take this moment to give a brief, spoiler-free summary of this life-changing, fully-immersive, definitely-not-a-hotel hotel based just outside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

The Galactic Starcruiser opened circa March 2022, touting itself as a 2-night Immersive Adventure… and boy, is it ever.

Upon check-in, you are dropped off at a secluded porte cochere and transported to the fanciest, most believeable pretend spaceship you’ve ever stepped foot on. Operated by the Chandrila Star Line (CSL), the Halcyon is a luxurious purgil-class passenger vessel that has been a home away from home to vacationing passengers throughout the galaxy for the past 275 years.

While there, all guests get to partake in hands-on training experiences, learning to wield lightsabers and operate the various systems on the Bridge of the ship. Characters (including Aliens!) who look, feel, and act like they were pulled in directly from a galaxy far, far, away roam the corridors. Some may ask you for assistance in an array of missions. But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to relax in the Sublight Lounge, the bar that serves some of the best cocktails in the galaxy.

While on your voyage, you might get an opportunity to hug Chewbacca, or interact with a droid, or, gasp, help the bad guys! And while it may end up being the most expensive vacation of your lifetime, it also just might end up being the most memorable.
